Controlling tool issues via the Toolvend system enables concise tracking, and provides significant cost savings.
The Toolvend system is user-friendly and works in a similar way to a cash-point machine. Each operator is provided with an authorisation card that carries a unique number. The operator simply slides the card into the card reader and then selects the tool that is required. There is also the provision of inputting either the works order number, job number, or route card number, etc via either an auxiliary Bar Code Reader or an additional keypad.
This then enables three distinct reports to be generated; Operator Audit Report – detailing tools against an individual, Product Audit Report – detailing all tool issues enabling accurate replenishment, and Cost Centre Audit Report – detailing tool issues to selected works order numbers or component batch.
Cost savings of around 15 – 20% are generated through the controlled issue of tools using the Toolvend system and can be attributed to ten areas;
